Visiting Three Springs and Warriors Mark

This past week has been on an exciting journey of community engagement for my “Echoes in History: Exploring Roots through Collage” project. At the Three Springs Carnival, I visited Huston Brother’s Store, where several Southern Huntingdon residents and historical societies had set up displays. It was a fantastic opportunity to see the area’s rich history and heritage showcased through various exhibits. I spoke with many passionate individuals about my residency project and invited them to contribute their stories, photographs, and historical materials. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and I’m excited to see how their unique perspectives will enrich our collage.

Later in the week, I attended the June Roundtable meeting at the Warriors Mark Historical Society, which brought together members from various historical societies in the region. I shared the vision for “Echoes in History” and invited them to join in. The enthusiasm and support from the roundtable members were inspiring, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with these dedicated historians. These visits have been incredibly fruitful, laying a strong foundation for community involvement in the project. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring our shared history to life through the “Echoes in History” project!
