Sharing my Project at the Commemorating 50 years of Raystown Lake Dinner
This past week, I had the wonderful opportunity to present my residency project, “Echoes in History: Exploring Roots through Collage,” at the Huntingdon County Historical Society’s Commemorating 50 years of Raystown Lake dinner. Held at the fairground, this event was a gathering of local history enthusiasts and community groups, all celebrating the rich heritage of our region. I shared the vision behind my project and how it aims to capture and preserve the diverse stories of Huntingdon County through a collaborative paper collage quilt.
Connecting with attendees was incredibly rewarding, as I met many passionate individuals eager to contribute their unique stories and materials. The enthusiastic support from these local history buffs and groups will be invaluable in bringing “Echoes in History” to life. Their shared narratives and artifacts will add depth and authenticity to the project, creating a vivid tapestry of our community’s past. I am excited to incorporate their contributions and continue building this collaborative artwork. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses!
