Preparing for the Residency

Packing Up

As I pack up the materials I’ve gathered over the past few months, I’m filled with anticipation for the residency at Juniata College’s Grove Farm. The photos, archival documents, and community stories I’ve collected represent the rich tapestry of Huntingdon County’s history. Organizing these elements by theme and location, I’m preparing to weave them together into a series of paper quilts that capture the essence of this remarkable region.

With everything ready to go, I’m mapping out my first-week schedule. I’ll start by setting up my workspace and exploring the surrounding area to gain inspiration from the landscape that has shaped so much of the county’s past. Then, I’ll dive into the creative process, experimenting with different compositions to bring the stories I’ve encountered to life. This first week will be all about laying the groundwork for the project, and I’m excited to see how it unfolds.
