A Weekend of Creation and Reflection

This weekend at Grove Farm has been a mix of creativity and nature. I spent time hiking at Trough Creek, enjoying the quiet solitude and clear skies, which provided a perfect backdrop for reflection. Back in the studio, I’ve been printing, collecting missing images, and cutting them to fit seamlessly into the quilt blocks. Each piece is carefully chosen to tell a story, and I’m excited to see the blocks start coming together as the larger narrative takes shape.

Balancing work with moments of rest has been key. The local wildlife has been a pleasant distraction—I’ve spotted various birds, a groundhog, a small milk snake, and a few deer on my morning walks. These encounters have not only recharged my energy but also deepened my connection to the landscape I’m documenting. As I continue to piece together the quilt, the combination of creation, reflection, and time in nature is helping to maintain my focus and inspiration.
